This is a great recipe for using up that excess of plums.
I followed the exact recipe using the lesser sugarm but next time I will use 1/2 cup as the plums were just a fraction tart, and I think the extra sugar would make them that tiny bit sweeter.
But in saying that... the plums were great. I served with custard which cut out any tartness of the plums and made for a lovely light desert.
Thanks dicentra for a lovely recipe I will making again.

Ingredients Nutrition


  1. Combine wine, sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg in a medium saucepan. Heat to boiling.
  2. Add plums, and reduce heat to low.
  3. Gently simmer plums, covered, 10-15 minutes until tender. Remove to serving dish.
  4. Bring poaching liquid to a boil over high heat. Boil gently for 12-15 minutes or until slightly thickened.
  5. Serve over plums.
