I found this recipe in the USA Weekend circular in our local Sunday paper. Serve this with Lemon Cooler Cookies for a refreshing summer dessert.
- 2 lbs strawberries, hulled and thickly sliced
- 1⁄4 cup sugar
- 1 1⁄2 cups white wine (a fruity wine like Riesling)
- Place strawberries in a medium glass bowl. Sprinkle with sugar, then add wine.
- Mix gently until sugar dissolves. Let stand for 30 minutes or up to 3 hours.
