Wild Rice Cheddar Cheese Soup

We use Vegan Gourmet cheddar-style cheese substitute to adapt this recipe from Prevention.
Directions:

Melt margarine in large saucepan over medium heat.

Stir in flour and cook, stirring 1 minute.

Whisk in broth.

Pour into slow cooker and add onion and wild rice.

Cover and cook on low 4 to 5 hours until rice grains are tender.

Stir in cheese and hot sauce. Cook 1/2 hour more. Stir until cheese is melted.

This did not work out well for me. The flavor was decent, not outstanding, and I didn't care for the texture. This soup might be better textured with some corn or potatoes added. I love cheese and wild rice, but wish this had more flavor. Thanks for the post.
