  2. Preheat oven to 325°F.
  3. Line 9" square baking pan with aluminum foil so that the foil extends 2" beyond two opposite sides of the pan.
  4. Lightly butter the bottom of foil-lined pan.
  5. Place chocolate and butter or margarine in small microwave-safe bowl.
  6. Microwave on medium(50% power) for 1 minute.
  7. Stir.
  8. Microwave 30 seconds more or until chocolate is softened.
  9. Stir until smooth.
  10. Pour into large mixing bowl and let cool 10 minutes.
  11. Add sugar and salt to melted chocolate mixture, beating until smooth with electric mixer at medium speed.
  12. Beat in corn syrup and vanilla.
  13. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  14. Stir in flour just until combined.
  16. Spread batter in prepared pan.
  17. Bake 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out sligtly creamy.
  19. Cool in pan on a wire rack.
  20. MAKE GLAZE:.
  21. Place chocolate and butter in microwave-safe bowl.
  22. Microwave on medium(50% power) for 1 minute.
  23. Stir.
  24. Microwave 30 seconds more or until chocolate is softened.
  25. Stir until smooth.
  26. Stir together vanilla and coffee granules in small cup.
  27. Add milk, corn syrup, coffee mixture and cognac or rum, if using, to melted chocolate and beat until thickened using a whisk.
  28. Pour glaze over brownies and sprinkle with walnuts, pecans or almonds.
  29. Chill 30 minutes or until glaze is set.
  30. Using the two ends of the foil as handles; lift the brownies out of the pan.
  31. Cut into bars.
  32. Remove brownies from foil.
  33. Enjoy with an ice cold glass of milk!
