"Basically I just measured the ingredients in the package and substituted fresh onion and garlic. I usually mix up several of these and store them in ziplock bags to use later."

 1. True Wick Fowler's chili would NEVER contain beans, just like REAL genuine Texas chili!

 2. OH NO! Please tell me you didn't ruin a Texas classic by adding beans? Otherwise this IS the best chili, ever!

 3. I posted a review before my email confirmation. If you get it, either omit it or add the 8 oz. tomato sauce and two cans water. Thank you.

 4. This is perfect--the only thing I changed was I used undrained Ranch Style Beans for pinto beans. Also masa harina can be hard to find even in a specialty grocery store but you can buy it in 5 lb.bags for less than $2.00 at HEB in Texas stores. I could not find it in a smaller size. 1/2 cup of chili powder is pretty hot so I used 1/4 cup and it was just right for us.

I started cooking when I was about 12 years old. I was a fan of Graham Kerr's Galloping Gourmet and my mother helped me buy the ingredients and cook Steak Diane after I saw it on his show.

I can't cook for the family every night, but I try try to have one or two nights a week when I can fix them a home meal. Sunday is the day when my wife, 3 kids, 1 daughter-in-law, and 2 grand daughters get together to have a big dinner.

My picture is me holding my babies. Being a grandfather is really great. They call me Papa by the way.
