This recipe is better than the Little Debbie cakes you buy in the store. I found this recipe on the internet. It's a must try recipe!
- preheat oven at 350.
- cream shortening.
- add eggs and vanilla.
- sift together the dry ingredients.
- add dry ingredients to the shortening mixture alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredient drop by T on a greased cookie sheet.
- bake 15 minutes.
- Filling: Mix all the filling ingredients together.
- spread a tsp (or a little more) on a cookie.
- top with another cookie.
- makes 2 dozen cookies.
This is fantastic! I just used the cookie part - I had made pumpkin whoopie pies and those had a cream cheese frosting filling. I had some filling left over and wanted to try "real" whoopie pies so I made these. They were soooooooo good! I made the cookies fairly small and cooked them for about 12 minutes. The frosting was very sweet, and these had less sugar than some recipes I looked at. The combination is perfect!
excellent recipe I used a cream cheese filling the cookie part is very chocolate. will make again
