Delicious. I had a hard time getting the males in my family to try them because I made the mistake of saying "wheat germ", but once they did they were impressed. Thanks for posting. By the way, I used Splenda in place of the sugar.

really yummy! myhusband likes them, too, though my son wasn't thrilled -- too "real" for him. One time I left out the nutmeg, and they tasted really flat.

Really food waffle, but with healthier low fat modifications-but tasted fantastic as well. Made a 2 serving portion -subbed most of oil for unsweetened apple sauce, Splenda for sugar, 2/3 of the salt, added 2 tablespoons of Flax Seed, and used egg whites instead. Came out great. Then when finished -topped with fresh fruit and ED Smith low fat syrup. Tasty

I would not make these again. They takes too much like whole wheat and bran.

Note to myself:-substitute wheat germ with oats, 2 tbsp sugar with splenda and veg oil with apple-sauce. Add blueberries

Very tastey but "healthy" is the wrong word to describe this waffle because each serving is a whopping 55% fat!!. I reduced the vegetable oil (used extra virgin olive) by half which is more in line with other waffle recipes.

My sister got me a waffle make for my birthday this year and this was my very 1st waffle recipe I attempted.
Wow...This is really good and does not even taste like it's 100% whole wheat.
I did take out 1/2 cup of the wheat germ and substituted 1/2 cup of quick cooking oats. I've made this with both cows milk and almond milk and I have to admit, I like it better with the almond milk.
I've tried a few other waffle recipes, but I always come back to this one. Thanks so much for posting!!!

Super delicious! I followed the recipe exactly and they turned out perfectly. I put butter, maple syrup and cranberry relish on top and I couldn't eat enough. Nuts would be a great add in for next time. They were fluffy, crispy, and satisfying.

Yummy! The nutmeg was a wonderful addition. These weren't very fluffy, but tasted good & were light & crispy. I cut the recipe in half but still used 2 tbsp Splenda. I also used applesauce for the oil & Eggbeaters. 1 tsp salt is a lot so I only used 1/8 tsp-worked fine :-) Thank u for the recipe!

These were great! I used ww pastry flour instead of plain ww, 1/2 c ground flax and 1/2 c quick oats. They cooked up fluffy, though they are not "light" at all; they are quite a mouthful--of nutrition. Perfect for when you want to eat healthy, yet you crave the goodness of pure maple syrup. Mmm.

These were great. I used brown sugar instead of white, and added old fashioned oats for part of the wheat germ.

I substituted Almond extract ~1/4 teaspoon and ~ 1/4 tsp. cinnamon. Splenda instead of sugar. A very good and simple recipe. I will add fruit, other flavorings, and maybe nuts for more variety.
