Whole Wheat Banana Pancakes - Low Fat

"For this recipe I modified a pancake recipe to make it low fat/fat free, but you can add nuts if you like, which I did for a few of the pancakes. I think it would also taste good with some cinnamon. My guests loved them."

  1. I used this as my basic recipe for measurements. I used 3/4 c whole wheat spelt flour w/1/4 cup buchkwheat flour. No sugar and replace skim milk w/3/4c almond milk. These where great your recipe was all I needed to make the dietary changes to meet the diet of family. They were mois,t fluffed up nicely and made many small pancakes.

  2. I LOVE this recipe! Since I found it about a month ago, I have made it 3 or 4 times, and I purposely buy extra bananas so I will have some very ripe ones left over. I did add cinnamon to the recipe. I didn't add walnuts to the recipe since I have a baby who can't eat nuts, but I do sprinkle walnuts on top and cover with syrup. Left overs freeze well for the rushed mornings. GREAT and healthy recipe!

  3. I made it without the applesauce and added some walnuts. Delicious! I will make these again.

  4. Great flavor, but the pancakes browned too fast and were difficult to turn. I modified my technique, spreading the batter with the measuring cup, and they still didn't come out right. Maybe omit the brown sugar or applesauce?

  5. These are pretty good. I added some nuts and I left the banana a bit chunky, loved the flavor of these. I would make them again. Thanks!
