Whole (i'm crazy 'bout the berries) Sauce

Lively sauce without too much sweetness, but OH so GOOD! Created for a cooking class 2 years back.

  1. Cut the apples into chunks.
  2. Section just the pulp from the oranges.
  3. Pick over berries, discarding any that are spoiled.
  4. Put all the ingredients*except marmalade* into a large pan with water to barely cover the fruit.
  5. Cook until the berries pop and the apples are tender, stirring often.
  6. Remove vanilla bean and cinnamon stick.
  7. Add the marmalade and cook into sauce.
  8. Serve hot or cold as desired.
