  1. Bring margarine and water to a boil. Remove from heat and add sugar, salt, flour, and soda. In small bowl, beat eggs, buttermilk, and vanilla. Combine both mixtures and beat well.
  2. Spread into greased and floured 11/15/1-inch pan. Bake at 350F for 20 minutes. Cool and frost.
  3. For frosting: bring margarine and milk to a boil. Add powdered sugar, vanilla and pecans. Spread on cooled cake.
  4. Yield: 3 dozen squares.
