I made this potato salad today, and I have been trying to find a recipe similar to my mother-in laws potato salad recipe, look no further, I have found it!!!! I don't like gerkins so I left them out, but very easy to make. My husband will be so happy that I have perfected his mother's potato salad! Very tasty!

Had these 2 nights ago for a family barbecue, (my son in law loves Potato Salad) I didnt leave the jackets on the potatoes just boiled the normal way. The pickle added gave this salad the 'right' zip. Thanks for posting. =)

This is wonderful! I don''t like eggs, so I left those out and instead of pickles I used sweet relish. Thank you for sharing this recipe!! :)

I made this for the superbowl to go along with smoked ribs. This is the best potato salad i've had. Everybody loved it. The bad part was there was not enough leftovers for the next day. I will make this again and again. I did change the ingredients a little bit. I used kosher pickles since I didn't have gherkins.

This is good potato salad. I did have to change two things. 1. I used 1 cup miracle whip, that's all I had, and 2 cups mayo. 2. I had no gherkins so I used 6 baby sweet pickles. They are a little bigger than gherkins so I cut back. Everybody liked this salad and I will make again. Thanks

This was amazing! I did change it up a bit though. I used 2c Mayo since I am not a Miracle Whip person at all and didn't wanna chance it. I too mixed all the ingredients except the potatoes in a separate bowl then poured over the potatoes. I omitted the gherkins and used 1/2 of a very LARGE red onion. Awesome recipe, I will definitely be making this again and soon ;)

We wanted to try a potato salad that was a little different, but this was way too sweet for us with the pickles, sugar and Miracle Whip. We used the red onions as suggested and they were way to strong in flavor for the salad, which was disappointing. Thanks for sharing it with us though! Mike

This recipe was the perfect compliment to our spring BBQ. I made more than I really needed to, but that was a good thing because everyone was eager to take some home with them. Next time though, I will use a little less red onion it was a little overpowering.

Took this to office party. It got rave reviews. They couldn't believe it did not have mustard in it. I halved the recipe, and had a little extra "sauce". Very delish and I will make again.

This recipe wasn't bad, but I found that it had way too much miracle whip, the flavor was too overpowering. I added a good amount of dillweed and pepper to try to soften the taste.

This recipe is my "best find" of the summer. I prepare this recipe using new potatoes leaving the jackets on. Excellent appearance and flavor. The only trouble with serving this potato salad to your family is they won't want the supermarket variety ever again!

I am allergic to mustard and Miracle Whip has mustard in it, that's why you don't need it in your recipe

This recipe is fabulous. I have never made my own before, but was looking for an alternative to the pre-made deli stuff that's always loaded with fat. My family loved this. I made it with the lower fat Miracle Whip and substituted half the sugar with Splenda and it was just fine. I also only made half the recipe as it was just for a family meal along with BBQ salmon and cole slaw. It did not make anywhere near 10 servings. There is only a bit left over. For a regular meal for 4 adults I would say it only makes about 6 servings. 10 would be reasonable if you make it for a buffet or pot luck where there are lots of salad choices and people only take a bit of each.

This turned out great for me. I didn't have Miracle Whip, so I added a bit of extra sugar. Not having sweet pickles on hand, I used a couple tablespoons of sweet pickle relish, and I chopped one Kosher dill pickle spear to add.

Delicious! Sweet and tany. I boiled cut up potatoes and used about a cup of mayo in place of one cup of Miracle Whip since I only had two cups of MW. I also mixed all ingredients together (except potatoes) and then poured over potatoes. Made the night before. Will keep in My Cookbook to make in the future. Thanks, H. Cato!
