Just realized I never reviewed this. I've made this a couple of times now. I use it to make a Steak and Cheese pizza by quickly sauteeing some onion, green pepper, mushrooms and very thin sliced steak. I omit the Basil and season the sauce with just a hint of Oregano and spread over Bread Machine Pizza Dough With Whole Wheat Flour. Add toppings and a small amount of Mozzarella and a little more Parmigiann-Reggiano. Makes a delicious pizza!

Just what I was looking for! I sauteed the garlic in the butter before adding the flour and had to use Italian seasoning instead of the basil. It was really good!

so yummy - just keep mixture on the stove until the cheese melts or it doesn't thicken (i didn't understand this, and had to turn the stove back on to make it thicken up), but, turned out great in the end. thanks for posting

I was making a white pizza w/ grilled chicken and needed a quick sauce. This recipe was simple to make and tastes great! I had no idea a white sauce could be whipped up so easily.

Very easy to make in the microwave. I used it as a pasta sauce, and it was quite good. It is flavorful without being a very strong flavor.<br/><br/>I think this sauce would be a very good complement to many different pizza toppings, and I plan to use it as a pizza sauce in the near future. I think this broccoli as a pizza topping would go especially well with this sauce.<br/><br/>I did not have any parmigiano-reggiano cheese, so I substituted mozzarella with a tablespoon of grated Parmesan cheese. I did not have any fresh basil, so I used dried basil instead.

Very good! I didn't have fresh basil, so I used dried. I also added about 1 t of "hot pepper garlic sauce" for pasta, instead of the garlic%u2026feeling kind of lazy. Amazing white sauce! I could eat it with a spoon! Thanks for posting, yummy and so quick!

Very good sauce. I didn't have fresh basil, so I used Penzey's pasta sprinkle instead. I followed Sloppy Joes suggestion of topping my pizza with thinly sliced steak and sauteed peppers, onions and mushrooms. I'm looking forward to using this sauce on pasta. Thanks for posting!

This sauce is awesome! I added garlic & onion to the butter, and I didn't have parmesan, so I used mozzarella and it worked just fine. Perfect sauce for pizza!
