Wow! I made this because it sounded so different, but man did my family love it. My husband found this pie to be especially "uneven", requiring multiple trips to the fridge to "even" the edges. Wonderful, wonderful recipe.

I made this pie when I lived at home and have made it down through the years. It is excellent! It is different than any pie you will ever make. So easy!

I grew up in Benton, near Whitrington. My, then, step-mom was the niece of the lady who makes the pies at Burton's. She had the recipe and made white pie all of the time. I don't have the recipe, but I remeber it invloved marshmallow cream in the filling. You might try to incorporate that.

This is one of my favorite pies. I lived in Southern Illinois growing up, and went to Rend Lake College 71. Having thie pie at Burton's was the very best. I had the recipe for years, then lost it. It took some time to locate it again. Not many people outside of S.I. know about this wonderful pie.

I am originally from New England and this is my dad's all time favorite pie and one of my very favorites!!! His great grandmother used to make it and I have no idea where the family's recipe originated from though I doubt IL as we have never had relatives or friends from there. Wherever it comes from, it is gorgeous. The family called and calls it graham cracker pie as a graham crust (homemade) was always used. Many thanks for posting it!!

This is so easy and absolutely wonderful. I made this and took it to my neighbor's house to share with a cup of coffee. She said it tasted like homemade ice cream. I just thought it tasted great. Made as directed. Don't need to change a thing. My pie shell was eebrag's No-Fail Piecrust which turned out wonderful, again. Thanks for a great keeper.

My family & I stumbled on Burton's several years ago on a cross country trek. We made Burten's part of the annual trek JUST for the White Pie. I too, have tried to replicate it. Thanks for the recipe. I could get either the consistency or the flavor but never both @ the same time. I put meringue on top instead of a whipped topping. The kids don't want anyone to try this pie off the dessert table - just so they can have more!!
