White Nail

"This wintery drink is reminiscent of a milk punch, and inspired by the classic Rusty Nail. It won a recent contest sponsored by Drambuie; it was invented by Ashley Schirmer of Ulysses Folk House in New York. The original recipe uses Fee's Old Fashioned bitters, which has cinnamon notes; if you can't find it, use Angostura bitters and garnish with a cinnamon stick. ingredients

• 1 1⁄2 ounces drambuie
• 2 ounces whole milk
• 1⁄4 ounce vanilla extract
• 1 -2 dash bitters
• freshly grated nutmeg, to garnish (optional)
• cinnamon stick, to garnish (optional)

directions

1. Combine Drambuie, milk, vanilla and bitters in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake until well combined (the outside of the shaker should be fully wet with condensation). Strain into a cocktail glass and garnish with nutmeg and/or cinnamon stick, or strain into a old fashioned glass over ice.
