we just tried this recipe among some others to decide what to use for a wedding cake, and this one won hands down. Everyone who tried it loved it, and my future mother in law about melted it was so good in her opinion. We sampled it with a classic buttercream icing. Even rich as they both were, I couldnt resist having two pieces worth.

My family really liked this cake! Like the other reviews said, it is a dense cake. I found also that the cake got better the longer it sat. I made it on a Sunday and we had it as our dessert all week; the cake was better towards the end of the week than the first day we ate it! I guess all the flavors had time to marinate together and it was actually more moist after it sat! This icing was awesome!!! Great flavor! I was worried about the cake and the icing at first because when I tried adding the melted chocolate to the wet ingredients in the cake batter and icing it wanted to clump up, but it all turned out great!!!

I have made a version of this cake nearly identical to this recipe, and love it. The only difference was the pecans being included. I used black walnuts in it. Wonderful complement to the white chocolate, moist but not squishy, just a little sweet and nutty.

Loved it. I am making this recipe for my in-laws 40th Anniversary. Defnitely has an interesting density and texture, not like a box from a cake which is why i really like it. I also found a yummy buttercream white chocolate frosting. this combination is to die for!

Tastewise, the cake was rich and moist. The only problem I have with the cake was that it was rather dense. Texture was very, very fine though. Made this for my daughter's b'day. Thank you for sharing.

Good stuff! My cake also had a yummy crust! I think I know why, if you don't want a crust, make sure the egg whites are folded in good! I didn't notice I hadn't done it enough until I started putting the batter into the pans. I made the frosting and ended up not having enough. So, I made another 1/2 of the recipe, then it made plenty. I took it to my grandma's house for christmas eve and everyone loved it! I will definately be naking this again!!

This cake was great, especially on the first day. I do not know if I baked it too high, but it created almost a crust that was surprisingly good. I tried this with a semi-sweet chocolate ganache and strawberries, and it was excellent. I will definitely make this again.
