Quick and easy bechamel or cheese sauce! Great on veggies!
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons butter or 2 tablespoons margarine
- 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄8 teaspoon pepper
- Combine corn starch and milk in a small pan and stir until smooth. Add butter, salt and pepper. Stirring contanstly over medium heat, simmer for 1 minute.
- To make cheese sauce, just stir in 1 cup of shredded cheese at the end of cooking time and stir until melted.
Did need to use plain flour but with the grated vintage cheese added it was a lovely smooth thick sauce which was much enjoyed over recipe #389219. Thank you Chef, made for Bargain Basement.
