I just got a new bread machine so I'm collecting recipes to try. I found this on allrecipes.com. This is dairy-free.
- 1 cup warm water (110*)
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 1 1⁄2 teaspoons salt
- 3 tablespoons oil
- 3 cups bread flour
- 2 1⁄4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- Place water, sugar, salt, oil, flour and yeast into pan of bread machine.
- Bake on White Bread setting. Cool on wire racks before slicing.
This is a perfect loaf of bread. The texture of the dough was excellent, smooth and elastic a joy to work with. I used the dough setting on my ABM then very lightly kneaded the dough and put in a greased bread pan (clear glass) and allowed to rise covered for 30-40 minutes. Then I baked in a 400F oven for 17 minutes. The crust was a perfect golden brown and the inside is soft and tender. Perfect toasted with some apple butter slathered on. Made a perfect companion for my breakfast smoothie this morning! Thanks for posting! Made for My 3 Chefs Event November 2009!
