Fantastic! I used more onion and I sprinkled a tablespoon or two of sugar into the onions. I am not a drinker, so I just used a little tiny bottle of whiskey (like the kind on the airplane).

This was a hit with my DH. I used a large sweet instead of a yellow onion. I loved the color of the red onion with the green of the thyme. I served it right on top of the steaks and it looked like a fancy dish! Thanks.

I made these the other night & put them in fried potatoes & let me tell ya....AWSEOME!! I only used sweet onions because that is all I had & I put some garlic powder in the skillet when I sauted the onions. I will definately be using them again. I think I am going to put them in meatloaf. Thanks for the excellent post Angie!

Yes this is 5 star for sure. I didn't have any whiskey so I used Navan (actually a near cognac) It was wonderful- Steak was perfect and it was ferfect to go with the steak. This is a keeper for sure. Thanks for posting Eds Girl

I used Michael Collins Irish Whiskey and made them to top off our steaks. Both hubby and I enjoyed this side tremendously and when he said "I wouldn't mind if we had them again" I knew you were getting a strong five stars for this. TFS

I am eating these as I type and do you think saying that I love you is too forward? Seriously, these are WONDERFUL. I knew I'd be making this as soon as a I saw it. I too cut the slices thick to keep them a little crisp. I used Jack Daniel's and didn't change a thing. I will be making these again!
