Great diet treat! I added Splenda as well! Great sub for ice cream. Does not come close to that high fat and sugar treat but a good way to get a cold treat without ruining your diet!
This was very nice on a hot summer night. I added a half tsp of Splenda, which made it a little sweet, but followed the recipe otherwise. I only blended for 4 min, I used my Magic Bullet and had to stop when the volume of the milk had increased so much it wouldn't fit anymore! Will make again with a bigger blender, never knew you could eat skim milk with a spoon! Trying with cocoa next!
My Oster blender struggled with this, Maybe in a Vita-mix you would get complete foam? Liked it with pumpkin pie spice and stevia.
This was very easy to throw together. I decided to make it because I'm gestational diabetic and miss having fun indulgences like shakes ;-). It gave me that same texture without the carbs! I think in the future I'm going to try adding a little splenda to the mix for some sweetness. The vanilla and cinnamon flavor was really good. I like Been There, Baked That's idea about experimenting with other flavors too. Thanks so much for posting...this is one I'm going to be enjoying often!
this is awesome, healthy, and delicious! My family didn't know it was skim milk!
Last night was really cold so I decided to try this warm. I skipped the ice cubes and replaced the cinnamon with a little grated nutmeg. It was fantastic and I slept like a baby... Thank you for posting. Forgot to add, I used 1 cup of skim milk to make up for the ice and an immersion blender to whip it up. I think next time I might add a tsp of cocoa powder...
It's almost too easy! This is a great basic recipe & I love that it is fat free! I added a dash of nutmeg after pouring into the glass. I plan on experimenting with additional flavors and additions..like, pumpkin pie spice, or coffee...
