  1. Heat oven to 375degrees.
  2. Mix shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla thoroughly together.
  3. Measure flour.
  4. Stir flour, baking powder and salt together.
  5. Blend shortening and flour mixtures together.
  6. Stir in nuts.
  7. Carefully fold in Wheaties.
  8. Drop by teaspoonfuls about 3" apart on lightly greased baking sheet.
  9. Bake 8 to 10 minutes.

Very simple and tasty cookies. I lowered the sugar to 1/4 cup of Splenda Brown Sugar Blend and the 2 eggs became 1/2 cup of Eggbeaters to make them more diabetic friendly. The Wheaties were an interesting addition that I liked. This is a good all year'round cookie.
