This dessert was truly exquisit! Goetterspeise = Food for the Gods, indeed! The toasted pumpernickel crumbs mixed into the quark cream was deliciously nutty and tasted fantastic together with the cherry sauce at the bottom. I followed the recipe except I substituted almond for the hazelnuts. This recipe requires some planning. If you need it for a dinner party, start early, it is a little labor intensive.
