Weight Watchers BLT Pasta Salad

"This is a weight watcher recipe, and one of my favorites. My whole family loves this. It is only 3pts for 1 cup! I didn't see it posted anywhere, and thought I would share it. It is so simple and good. Servings are a guestimate, as my family doesn't have to stick to one cup."

Questions & Replies

  1. I would like to know the points per serving, this the only pet peeve I have, most recipes do not give the points.

  2. How many points per serving? What is a serving size?

  1. I love this recipe! As my name suggests, I am a true, 100% mayo lover of the pure fat variety. However, since joining WW, my tastebuds have adjusted to light mayo - to some degree. The basic ingredients of light mayo, combined with the vinegar, sugar, sour cream, and dijon makes for an outstanding alternative to the "full fat" dressing I have come to know and love. It tasted just as good as the real thing, if not better as it did not leave me with a greasy feel afterward. I substituted the add-ins with celery, apple, egg, and Maui onion. It was great, everyone loved it and didn't know the difference - including my husband, who is an extreme anti-light mayo guy. Thank you for posting the recipe...it's recipes like this that have allowed me to stick with WW!

  2. This was just ok. It had way too many tomatoes for me. I think if I were to try this again, I would cut the tomatoes down to just 1-2 cups and not 4. It needs a bit more flavor - maybe more bacon and some green onion or other favorite.

  3. This was very good. I used greek yogurt instead of sou cream b/c I don't care for s.c. Also kept the lettuce separate and added as we ate so it would get soggy. Reviewed for Pool Party 2010.

  4. Great recipe. Just a tip. Use center cut bacon. Less fat and more meaty.

  5. The only thing I changed was I used truvia in place of sugar.

Tweaks

  1. This was great! Not giving a star rating since I made a lot of changes. I lightened it up a bit more by using 6 slices of turkey bacon and just two cups of cooked whole grain penne pasta. I also upped the lettuce to 4 cups. I swapped maple syrup for the sugar, and skipped the sour cream since we can't have dairy. I used 1 cup of the light mayo but I would cut to half a cup next time as I think that would still be plenty.

  2. See above post. I also used turkey bacon, oscar Myers brand.

  3. this recipe is simply made and flexible . I'm a vegan so i removed the bacon and i couldnt find any low fat sour cream around so i replaced the sour cream with non fat Greek yogurt and i added a table spoon of lemon juice , tea spoon of basil and a 1/2 tea spoon of garlic powder . it did the trick and i loved it.

  4. We LOVED this recipe! I really liked the flavour of the dressing with a hint of mustard. I used turkey bacon to cut the calories and fat and used low fat creme fraiche in place of sour cream. DH and I fought over the leftovers for lunch tomorrow!

I have always loved to cook. This got me into trouble with my wieght, because I loved to eat what I cooked. I am now a weight watcher, I have to lighten most recipes. My favorite cookbooks are Taste of Home & Taste of Home Light. MY pet peeve is boxed dinners. I do love simple and quick though. I have 3 grown sons, one is in last semester of college, one is married and a new baby is on the way, so I will be grandma in January. My daughter-in-law hates to cook, they order prepared food off the internet, that makes me crazy. ha. I love animals, but right now only have one dog. A bloodhound. She is so loveable, I would recommend this breed to anyone as long as you have patience, but they are one of the most loving breeds out there. My married son has 3 lab. retrievers,a baby will be easy after those 3 monsters, as I lovingly called them when they were pups. My oldest son has a Rottwieller. I have had 3 Rotts, they have all pasted, buy they are a really great breed. They are so smart and loveable, I guess that's why people who chose to make them bad, can do so, all they want to do is please their owners. My real passion is shoes, shoes, shoes. I also love jewelry, but shoes, shoes, shoes,!!!!! Update I am finally grandma to the prettiest baby girl ever. She was born on Jan. 15, her name is Mariah. She is perfect!
