I wasn't that impressed with this. I had a very sweet, juicy, soft watermelon, and melon was the primary flavor without being able to taste much else (so I might have well just eaten some watermelon straight). Also, after sitting out for only a few minutes the feta was swimming in a pool of watery juice. I might have liked it better if it had some other fruits or vegetables in the salad (like cucumbers or onions) to balance it out and make it so there was more to this salad than just watermelon.

Like Neohippie, we weren't very impressed by this. It was ok but if I made it again I would cut the watermelon ahead of time and then drain it before adding the feta. It was too watery by the time dinner was over.

Made this for a pot luck and it went over very well. I did not use the red pepper flakes. We did have fresh cut mint for those who wanted to add it. We used the feta in a brine.

Awesome way to spark up some watermelon - we also added some cukes and left the blk ppr and red ppr flakes as opt for each individual plate but it is great to add them

DH always likes salt on his watermelon, so I thought he'd like this. He sure did, but so did I, and I never want salt on my melon! I halved the recipe so it would only serve 3-4. Well, I must admit it only served two. Our watermelon was cut up closer to 1-inch cubes and was very easy to eat. This is such an easy, amazing salad, I think we'll be making it quite often. Thank you so much, JoJoStar!

SOOOOOOO Goood!!!!!! We absolutely loved this salad!! Talk about a wonderful and easy salad to take to a pot-luck, etc.!!! The balance is outstanding between the salty, tangy feta and the sweet watermelon!!! Loved the touch of heat too!! Served this with Italian Country Chicken & Peppers and it was a wonderful meal!!!

I made this last night for Valentines Day. I cut up the watermelon into small hearts and just topped it with pepper and feta. It looked very cute, and was delicious. Good idea for an anniversary as well. Thank you.

I thought the combination of watermelon and feta was great. I left out the ground pepper and red pepper flakes and added mint instead. Delish. Thanks for giving me a great jumping off point!

Everyone really liked this, though they were a bit leery to begin with, I used fresh mint instead of red pepper flakes, also added some red onion, cut the watermelon into cubes the night before and drained it before finishing the salad the next day, very nice !!! will certainly make it again. Thanks

Wow, what a wonderful flavor combination! This was a great after supper treat for me. Refreshing yet satisfying. Hope my mellons do well this year, I'll have this a lot. I did not use the red pepper flakes this time, but I am going to try them next time. Thanks for posting JoJo.

It's summer in Australia and watermelon is freely available. I made this for super using fridge temperature watermelon, everyone really enjoyed it. I can't eat watermelon because it doesn't digest properly but I did sample the recipe and the flavours with the feta, cracked pepper and chilli flakes are excellent. Thank you JoJo Star

Made this for my PAC 2006. The flavor was amazing. I love the spicy zing you get after the sweetness of the melon. Great salad to serve with a BBQ chicken.

The sweet watermelon with the salty feta is a perfect flavor combination. The red pepper flakes make it all dance in my mouth. Yum! Great summertime salad.
