A healthier non-alcoholic version of a holiday favorite. From the American Diabetes Association Holiday Cookbook.
- 4 cups unsweetened apple juice
- 3 cups unsweetened pineapple juice
- 2 cups cranberry juice cocktail
- 1⁄4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 3 whole cloves
- 4 lemon slices
- Put all the ingredients (adjust number of lemon slice to taste) in a suitably sized saucepan and simmer for 10 minutes. Tastes best hot.
YUM, YUM, YUM!!!! Stingo I cant write reviews as poetic as yours, but if I could this yummy brew would be the star of a poem! :) It is soooooooo tasty!!!! I used all organic juice and although it was a warm day in Spring, I LUVED this drink! It was warming, nicely spiced and just perfect in every way! I am so happy to have found this as I luved mulled wine, but cant have citrus fruits. This fits the bill perfectly. I will definitely make this again and again! I served this at a KENO party for Christmas, and it was a great hit with all the ladies who attended. My favorite part was that it wasn't as sweet as other wassail drinks I've had in the past. I will absolutely use this again! Thank you so much!
Other than using (as did LonghornMama!) "All Juice Cranberry Juice" instead of the cocktail, I followed the recipe &, as others have said, this is AN ABSOLUTELY GREAT TASTING HOLIDAY DRINK, will be making this several times more before the end of the year, & after that, as well!
