Good over a bed of lettuce, or pitted dark cherries, also good over chicken, turkey or Pork

Ingredients Nutrition

  • 2 tablespoons peanut oil
  • 13 cup honey
  • 12 cup Italian dressing
  • 14 cup walnuts, chopped
  • 14 cup maple syrup

Directions

  1. In medium saucepan combine oil and walnuts over medium heat until nuts are slightly brown.
  2. Add remaining ingredients;reduce heat to low and simmer 5-7 minutes.

This is a great little recipe! I had it on salad, but I was thinking it would be great with pork sausage patties and potatoes and fried onions, or soft polenta. I put some fennel seed with my seasoning, used walnut oil, and produced a pretty earthy flavored sauce that would go well with a deep flavor, like sausage. Very, very good!
