ingredients

• 2 eggs
• 2 cups buttermilk
• 2 cups all-purpose flour
• 2 teaspoons baking powder
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
• 1⁄4 cup plus 2 tbsp shortening

directions

1. heat waffle iron.
2. beat eggs in large bowl.
3. beat in remaining ingredients.
4. pour batter into center of waffle iron.
5. bake 5 min or till steaming stops.
