Wade's Apple Dumplings

Last night we ate dinner with some friends of ours, and our friend Wade made this for dessert. It was TO DIE FOR and the almost the whole pan got gobbled up! He doubled the recipe, but I'm posting the original "single" version. The sprite and sugar makes an awesome glaze in the bottom of the pan that you can pour over the dumplings. Yum!

Very good recipe. I got it from my SIL in Ft Worth Texas. There is one thing about this recipe, it should be eaten as soon as it comes out of the oven. The next day, it gets soggy. But is super good while still hot.

  1. Grease a small casserole dish and preheat oven to 350.
  2. Cut the granny smith into eights.
  3. Unroll the crescent rolls, and place one slice of the granny smith into each crescent roll and roll back up. Place in casserole dish.
  4. Mix the sugar, sprite and vanilla and pour on top of crescent rolls. Dot butter around the top, and sprinkle with cinnamon.
  5. Bake for around 30 min (?) or until tops of dumplings are golden brown.
