A simple pink sauce, great over Penne pasta.
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 ounces chopped garlic
- 36 ounces tomato puree
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1⁄2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 2 tablespoons vodka
- 1⁄4 cup minced fresh basil
- Sauté garlic in olive oil, add tomatoe puree and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer for about 20 minutes.
- Add heavy cream and crushed red pepper to tomato sauce and simmer for 5 more minutes. Add vodka and basil to sauce and simmer for 2 more minutes.
We enjoyed this recipe of vodka sauce. Nice combination of flavors. Made for PAC Spring 2014.
