This pie recipe came from my grandmother and its been handed down from daughter to daughter for generations to come .
- Put in double boiler (except egg whites), and cook until thick.
- Pour into baked crust & cover with Merange.
- Merange: whisk 3 eggs whites into stiff peaks and put it over the pie.
- Then when you want to cook your Merange on the Pie you can either use one of those little torches and just get the top of the peaks brown or as dark as you like it. That is what I use to do mine, or you can put it in the oven and brown the merange on top of your pie, but on leave it for just a few seconds or until its as brown as you like it , use your own judgement on that .
