- Yields:
-
2 quarts
ingredients
- 2 tablespoons rosemary
- 2 tablespoons peppermint
- 2 tablespoons rue
- 2 tablespoons wormwood
- 2 tablespoons sage
- 2 tablespoons lavender
- 2 quarts apple cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons fresh garlic, chopped
directions
- In a sealable glass jar, mix together the first 6 ingredients.
- Add the vinegar and steep in the sun for 2 weeks or so, shaking daily.
- Then, strain out the used herbs, and retain the herbal liquid mixture.
- Add several cloves of crushed garlic, and close lid. Let soak for three days, and strain out the garlic fiber and discard.
- This liquid tincture needs to be stored in a cool place, like the refrigerator.
- It can be preserved for a very long period of time by canning. To do so, fill canning jars with boiling liquid tincture to within one-half inch of top. Cap with rubber seal canning lid, tighten ring, and turn hot jar upside down; leave it undisturbed until it cools to room temperature. This will cause the jar to seal. Don’t forget to date and label it.

I am a Christian wife and mother of 3 kids. Since my DH's high cholesterol, we've been eating better. I never used to like cooking. Since eating better, I've liked learning and preparing new recipes. My kids haven't reconciled themselves to the new eating yet. I grind my own grain and make all my own breads.?Working 2 hours a day in the local high school lunch room.??I am homeschooling my high schooler.? ?Also found out 1 child has multiple food allergies (wheat, dairy, tomato, chocolate, etc) and another is gluten sensitive. So, we just started (July 09) eating gluten and dairy free. I've been busy with getting our house market ready, even though it's not the best time for that.?
