  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • In a sauce pan, mix brown sugar and flour.
  • Then add maple syrup, butter, and salt.
  • Heat until butter melts stir constantly.
  • In a medium bowl beat eggs.
  • Stir in sugar mixture.
  • Pour into unbaked pie crust.
  • Sprinkle with walnuts.
  • Bake for 40-45 minutes or until filling is set.

  1. So this was a very good recipe however there is quite the learning curve and some technique must be utilized in making the pie- I learned the hard way. Be very careful when melting the sugar - if the heat is too high it will burn and if too low it will not melt. It takes quite some time. Also be sure to temper the eggs in the hot sugar mixture other wise you will have scrambled eggs. Bake on the middle rack or it will get to dark.
     
  2. I made this at my parents for New Year's. It was a huge hit. Definitely a keeper.
