Great marinade! Added a little white wine vinegar for an extra acid to tenderize meat some more. Will use again!

Best marinade I have found for venison so far. I soaked my steaks in FF milk overnight while they were defrosting in the fridge. Then marinated according to directions but for a full day before cooking. The deer steaks were so good that I cooked my last batch the same way. THanks for the recipe. It's going in my recipe tin! Oh yeah, I omitted the canola oil-- used just a Tablespoon of olive oil instead.

this is extremely tender and could not tell it was venison. It does need alittle more flavor, maybe marinate longer but it was very tender which was impressive.

Wow! My husband got a deer this year and our first taste of it was the inside loin. I used this marinade on it and what a wonderful flavor. I browned it in my fry pan then removed it and added mushrooms and sauteed them until slightly browned then put the loins back in and baked for about 25 minutes. We couldn't stop eating what a great flavor. I will be using this marinade for more than venison. Thanks so much!

I made this with a piece of tenderloin tied with kitchen string. It marinaded 1 1/2 days due to busy work schedules and it was really fabulous. I cooked it on my stove top in my Everyday pan, seared it a bit then covered it for about 20 mins, until it felt tender in the center. I did replace red wine for the soy sauce.

This was just ok. It didn't have much flavor and it didn't make the meat very tender maybe I just had a very tough piece of meat. I marinated it for 5 hours. It smells really good though. Glad I tried it but don't think I would use it again.

Really good recipe. I smoked the venison first with a mixture of apple and pecan wood. Hot fired for 20 minutes and smoked for 4 hours which produced a very rare roast. Then cut it up into steaks and used your marinate recipe (substituting ev olive oil for the canola oil) to marinate over night. I fried them up for lunch and they were the best ever. Thanks!

Excellent Excellent Excellent! Can you tell we loved it! Actually marinated the venison and then made kabobs with it. Mixed it in with the hawaiian chicken kabob recipe and it was wonderful. Ii was worried that venison might be tough as kabobs but not at all. Thanks for a Great marinade recipe. No one in my fam has ever marinated their venison in anything other than milk wow have they been missing out!

Even the picky kids happily gobbled this up! What a great recipe. Will be sure to pass this on to my brothers who got their first deer this year.

This is a great way to prepare venison. I soaked the steaks in saltwater for about 30 minutes (to remove the wild taste), then thoroughly rinsed before putting in marinade. I double the recipe, it didn't seem enough to cover the 6 small steaks I had. My children all ate it, and none of them had any idea it wasn't beef. Thank you!

My son-in-law gave me some venison steaks this week. I Googled "Venison Steak Marinade" and hit this recipe. Added 2 finely sliced green onions. Grilled them over hardwood charcoal with alder wood for smoke. Unbelievable!

My husband has cooked venison for years. I decided to try this recipe and he LOVED it. Said he likes it better than the way he had been making it. This is a keeper! Thanks!

Yum! My husband loved this marinade, it totally took the 'gamey' out of the meat. The only think I did differently was used olive oil since that is what I have and threw in a LITTLE Lowrey's seasoning salt. I also did a double batch and poured everything into a container for our vacuum sealer and vacuum sealed it. Left in the fridge for 30 minutes or so and WOW!! My husband grilled it on the charcoal grill and poured some of the marinade over while cooking for flavor. M-M-M

This marinade is GREAT! I'm not crazy about venison, but because my husband is a hunter, I try really hard to eat it to please him. I didn't have to try to hard last night when I grilled venison steaks that had been marinating in this all day!

I used vegtable oil, and I didn' have any soy sauce so I used 65% less sodium Teriyaki sauce, followed the rest of the recipe, and it turned out great. I am going to the store to get canola oil, and soy sauce to see how much of a difference it is.
