This is an excellent recipe! It's 8 Weight Watchers Points Plus and delish!! I used Arnolds sandwich thins (seedless rye) and added a little Dijonase for more flavor. The onions cooked perfectly and it was a hit with my husband who loves patty melts. Thanks, Carole in Orlando
This was a great way to make a veggie burger better! I thoroughly enjoyed it and am having it for lunch tomorrow! I have to tell you that my dh did not want a veggie burger for dinner, but I knew it would be good, so I said, "Well you're gonna get one and if you don't like it, you can feed it to the dog." He loved it and said he will gladly have it again. Matter of fact, he just asked me to make another and split it with him. I can't believe it, but then again I can! I chose this recipe in honor of our dear Bergy. Hey Bergy, I had a Veggie Bergy! lol
Having mostly given up beef as a bow to good health, I was delighted to find this recipe. I made mine with a reduced fat rye bread and a Boca burger (very meaty flavor) and it was absolutely fabulous. Also because I used fat-free cheese, it was WW Core plus 1 point for the bread. Absolutely delicious.
I love my veggie burgers made like this, with a nice big green leaf of lettuce too. Thank you.
