recipe is hard to read. Odd flavor. Not appealing to look at.

I've just made it for dinner tonight, and was really nice...this recipe made me get the aduki beans that i've never heard of before. I reall enjoyed it and was quite fullfilling and well, i add a few vegetables more: zucchini, mushrooms & celery, to be fried with the other ingredients and when it was in the skillet, i put a layer of corn out of a can and then the mashed potatoes. Thanks a lot for this recipe is already in my favorites :)

when i was in the hospital the only meal i would eat was the veggie shepperds pie... i made this in hopes that it would be the same, or at least close,a nd it wasnt, so i wa dissappointed. i made it EXACTLY to the recipe and i found it to be bland, and texturally not right. maybe my expectations were just too high?

I soaked the beans for approx 12 hours changing water occasionally (means less gas!)I omitted the rice but added a tin of chunky chopped tomatoes, didn't have any tomato paste so used tomato sauce to personal taste and two tablespoons of balsamic red wine vinigar. Wow, my husband who is a trad' chips/bacon/sausage man who rarely tries and likes anything new liked it better than ordinary sheperd's pie. Also brilliant with rice instead of potatoes. Great recipe, Thanks

We just made it and loved it. Perhaps next time we might add some eggs into the pie...
