Great alternative to real chopped liver.
- 1 (1 lb) can green beans
- 1⁄3 cup oil
- 2 medium onions, sliced
- 5 hard-boiled eggs
- 2 ounces walnuts
- salt and pepper
- Saute onions in oil for a long time, carmelized.
- Drain green beans.
- Process nuts until fine.
- Add green beans and onions to nuts in processor.
- Add 3 eggs to processor.
- Finely grate 2 remaining eggs and add by hand.
- Chill overnight.
Thanks for this recipe Caryn! Like Sharon said it looked like liver. Liked the flavor and the texture, served it with mini pitas and the left overs on a sandwich with some salad leaves the next day.
This looked alot like liver, but the taste was much better! I served this on toast and really enjoyed it! I did half the recipe. Thanks!
Something was missing here for me. Didn't taste like the mock chopped liver I'm used to.
