Combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar in a large bowl. Mix the flax seeds with the margarine and milk, then fold into the dry ingredients. Spoon about 1/3 cup of the mixture into a hot waffle iron for each waffle, and bake according to manufacturer's directions.
These waffles stuck to my iron so bad that i gave up and turned them into pancakes. What i did manage to scrape off my iron was tasty. Maybe too much flax?

Immediate plus: I have all the ingredients! I can't believe no one has rated this yet. I cook vegan for my guests and always seems to "forget" about any meat. Well, these were awesome and everyone enjoyed them. They have a great texture, with a buttery crispiness on the outside and a nice tender inside. They are fantastic plain, but also quite amazing with maple syrup. They stuck to my waffle iron and I had to pry them off with a butter knife, but that is likely user-error as I had just cleaned extensively cleaned my waffle iron to the point I may have removed its natural non-stick defense Thank you for sharing!
