Veal Osso Bucco

"Every Osso Bucco recipe has a different flair to it! I like to keep it simple with the taste of the vegetables coming through. Leek is very good in this recipe! I don't add salt or pepper as I use a gourmet stock that has enough flavour for this dish."

directions

  • toss the shanks in the flour and brown them in a pan on both sides (use a little olive oil).
  • combine all the other ingredients into a large casserole dish.
  • push the shanks into the combined mixture, ensuring it is covered with liquid.
  • salt and pepper to taste.
  • bake in a medium oven (150 C) for 3 hours.
  • serve with potato or risotto and some green beans.
  • you can add your favourite herb - I love rosemary with this dish.
