Veal in Wine Sauce

This is an attractive and quick-to-put-together dish that my husband and I definitely enjoyed.I followed the recipe exactly. We did both feel, however, that there was something missing to make it "pop"-perhaps a dash of cayenne or some herbs-thyme maybe? (I'll admit I tend to be more critical on veal dishes because veal is so expensive.) Thanks for posting !

  1. Cut veal into strips.
  2. Saute scallions in hot butter until soft.
  3. Add veal strips and saute over high heat for 2 minutes.
  4. Toss in mushrooms and cook for another 2 minutes.
  5. Stir in paprika, flour, salt and pepper.
  6. Add wine to form a sauce.
  7. Add cream.
  8. Cook for another 1 or 2 minutes.
  9. Serve over rice.
