This is a simple method of making vanilla sugar. To enhance the sugar store it with one vanilla bean.
- Blend the sugar and the vanilla extract in a bowl, then spread it on a tray lined with wax paper or plastic wrap and let it dry for 5 hours.
- Press out any lumps or sift through a strainer.
- Store it in an air tight plastic container.
Wonderful quick recipe! Did not have time to let my vanilla beans infuse the sugar. I used 2 c sugar and 1/2 T pure vanilla extract. My house smells heavenly right now. It is drying on a wax paper lined jelly roll pan.
Great recipe! I add 1 Tablespoon, plus 1 1/2 teaspoons McCormic Clear Imitation Vanilla Extract. I use two lined 9 x 13 baking pans. The layer is thinner, easier to break up, and takes less time to dry. Thanks for sharing.
