  • Bring water to a boil, in a small saucepan.
  • Combine sugar and cornstarch; stir well.
  • Add sugar mixture to boiling water.
  • Reduce heat to medium, stirring constantly, or until mixture thickens.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Add butter, vanilla and salt, stirring until butter melts.
