This is a Paula Deen recipe that combines the great taste of lemonade with vanilla beans. Wonderful drink for hot summer days. You will really like this simple recipe. Prep time does not include cooling time.

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine 2 cups water, sugar, and vanilla bean and bring to a boil over medium-high heat; boil for 2 minutes.
  2. Remove from heat, and cool completely.
  3. Stir in lemon juice and remaining 2 cups water; refrigerate.
  4. Serve chilled over ice. Garnish with maraschino cherries, fresh mint, and lemon slices, if desired.

I loved the vanilla flavor! It was a little strong for me, so I added club soda to dilute it just a little. Thanks for a lovely tasting drink! Made for a fellow Epicurean Queen-ZWT 2009.

Carol I wish I could give you 10 *'s for this wonderful lemonade. It certainly deserves it and more. I loved this tasty, fragrant, sweet & tart lemondade. What a treat it was, the vanilla bean takes it over the top and beyond. I garnished my glass of lemonade with orange slices and marashino cherries. This is a winner, I have a new favorite.
