I was trying to make frosting when I was out of powdered sugar and couldn't get to the store. I know it may seem odd to have flour in frosting, but trust me, this frosting is delicious and sweet!

  1. In a small saucepan slowly whisk the flour into the milk and heat, stirring constantly until thick. Allow to cool to room temperature.
  2. While it's cooling cream the softened butter and the sugar together until it is light and fluffy.
  3. Stir Vanilla into cooled milk/flour mixture then add to the butter/sugar mixture and beat until combined and it resembles whipped cream.
  4. Use immediately or you will have to rewhip if it starts to separate.
