  1. In a pitcher, stir the ground coffee into 4 cups water.
  2. Cover and let rest at room temperature overnight or for at least 12 hours.
  3. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the vanilla beans, milk, and sugar.
  4. Bring the mixture to a simmer and immediately remove from the heat.
  5. Allow to steep for about 20 minutes.
  6. Select 4 tumblers.
  7. Strain the coffee through a fine-mesh sieve into a large bowl.
  8. Strain again through a coffee filter into a large, clean pitcher.
  9. Fill the glasses with ice cubes.
  10. Pour the coffee into the glasses, filling them within 1 inch of the rim.
  11. Top each glass with ¼ cup of the vanilla flavored milk.
  12. Garnish each drink with a vanilla bean pod and serve immediately.
