I made this recipe ahead of time, when I needed to make some meals ahead of time. I popped this in the oven at 350 degrees and an hour later it was fabulous!! I am going to make this again!
Loved this!! So easy that my husband put it together while I was at work. Smelled heavenly when I walked in and tasted even better. We used hot sausage, because that is what we had in the freezer and it turned out great. The only complaint from the kids was that there was too much meat (maybe because it was spicy)!? Next time we are going to try sweet sausage and maybe try a ground beef variation and add a bit of pepperoni. The sauce is so rich and flavorful...hard to believe it comes from canned tomato sauce. Thanks for sharing this...a recipe my husband can make and we can all eat and enjoy!
yummy, yummy, yummy, yummy... I wish I could give this 10 stars :) It is easily adapted to Gluten free by using White Rice Flour.
What a great idea! I made it all is a single cast iron skillet, covered, over medium stovetop heat. Without using exact measurements, this came out great. I'd like to try it with chicken parm ingredients as well as shredded pork and sage. Thank you Chia!
We did a Buffalo chicken base and it was marvelous. Served with sour cream. Delicious and easy. Thanks!
******* - these are the 7 extra stars that my DS gives you. He said mama you give all your stars and then "atleast" 7 more from me. I used whole wheat flour. Blanched and pureed fresh tomatoes (as I do not get canned tomato sauce) Used garlic and onion and the sausage meat and then added some olives too. Used cheddar instead of parmesan cheese. It took a little over 40 mins for the top to brown. But I have to say this dough was such a breeze compared to the other dough that I make manually everytime it is pizza time (the ready bases we get here suck!! (excuse the expression!! :( ) Chia you have given me a lifetime keeper that rocks and as someone rightly said you do too!!!! :) Fay
