Thank you for posting this recipe! I have given it to my cat a couple of times and it has really helped her. I used a syringe to get this down her throat and while she usually gags and carries on (she has a flair for drama) she barely fussed at all when I gave her this tea. I dare say she might have liked it.

Slippery elm is fantastic herb. I have made slippery elm tea for years. I buy organic slippery elm bark powder. I make a cup of tea for us humans when our tummy is upset. And I make syrup for my 17 year old cat to take daily because he has some digestive problems. It works like a dream on him. Slippery elm is a very good herb to take for humans and animals that have digestive issues.

My GSD always had tummy issues until I switched to a raw food diet ten years ago. My other two are fine until they 'get into' things. This works very well for them. The last time I went to buy slippery elm the lady at the health food store gave me a very loooong lecture about Elm's dying with disease, becoming endangered etc and suggested Plantain as a substitute. I was browbeaten into the plantain leaves (powdered) and can report that it does work as well. Best part is that if you live near any unsprayed fields or parks (or my back yard) you can collect and dry bags full for free :) Thanks for posting Dreamer.

One pepto bismol tablet works alot easier than making up this recipe....I have a maltese who has a bad habit of eating things he should not outside...the vet recommended this for tummy problems and also for diarrea, it works great.
