I also had the the bug-eyed grocery clerks when looking for Panko, even at a tiny Asian grocery. Thanks for this, it was simple, worked great and tastes awesome on everything.
After the third grocery store employee looked at me bug-eyed when I asked where I could find "Panko bread crumbs" I decided to hop on 'Zaar to search for a DIY recipe. This was absolutely perfect and, best yet, gave me a great way to use up the bits and pieces of homemade bread I'd been storing in the freezer. Super easy to make in a processor, too. Thanks, Uncle Bill!
I used my Kitchen Aid grinder and followed the rest of the directions. These came out very nice and taste great! Thanks for sharing.
Worked like a charm. I scaled the recipe down and left out the optional seasoning. Thanks Bill!
