Ultra-Easy Yogurt Dressing

"I can't have ranch or bleu cheese dressing anymore (I'm off cheese), so this is my substitute! Sharp, spicy, and creamy, it completely satisfies my cravings. I love to use it on cucumber/tomato salads or to dip chicken nuggets in!"

directions

  • Mix half and half and plain yogurt until smooth. It should be pourable, but still thick.
  • Mix in garlic and onion powders.
  • Mix in Mrs. Dash seasoning.
  • Pour over a salad or use with veggies or whatever you want! Substitute whatever seasonings you want. You can also substitute water for the half and half, although it won't be as creamy.

  1. I was excited to find this recipe and had such high hopes for it but I'm afraid it was a major disappointment. I did use nonfat yogurt and maybe that made a difference.

  2. This was such a pleasant change from the typical salad dressing options! I ate at least two salads a day for nearly three days when I had this on hand, I just couldn't get enough!! It definitely needed salt and pepper to taste, but the consistency and flavor was excellent!! I will likely seldom use the unhealthier alternatives from here on out. Made for PAC Spring 2010.

Hi there! I'm a writer by soul, and a cheerful, in-depth experimenter with pretty much everything else. I am also a happy newlywed. My husband and I first started informal pre-dating stuff while cooking odd ingredients into tasty dishes. I've done some form of cooking ever since I was six, with a particular fondness for baking. A few years ago I was diagnosed with various allergies and intolerances, including wheat, apples, bananas, pears, yeast and most things that are fermented. It radically changed my cooking style and thankfully opened up a whole new world of cuisine to try! However, I have plenty of people who still enjoy the treats I used to make (and eat), so I have the best of both worlds; playing around with high-calorie dishes without having to eat them!
