It's not the prettiest jello salad, but it's the tastiest! The cream cheese, pecans and the celery are the secrets. A friend's mother gave me her recipe. We only have this at Christmas!

  1. Dissolve Jello in the boiling water.
  2. Stir in reserved pineapple juice.
  3. Chill until syrupy.
  4. Mix in softened cream cheese, stirring well.
  5. Fold in the softened cottage cheese, crushed pineapple, minced pecans, and minced celery.
  6. Transfer this mixture to a 9" x 13" glass dish.
  7. Refrigerate until Jello sets and chilled.
  8. Spread Icing on top of Jello.
  9. Icing Instructions:.
  10. Add chopped cherries and cherry juice to sour cream.
  11. Stir mixture well.
  12. "Ice"the Jello.
