This was a very nice combination of flavors. I used dried rosemary instead of fresh as that what I had on hand. I also cheated a bit when cooking. Instead of frying I mixed the ingredients together, including the oil, and baked it until done. That way I could focus on the rest of dinner without fear of burning the potatoes :) Made for Soup-A-Stars ZWT9
A nice potato dish that goes well with a wide variety of foods. The first night we had it with Pork Chops Piquant and then leftovers was served with Brown Sugar Roasted Salmon With Maple-Mustard-Dill Sauce. Made for ZWT9.
Great potatoes! I liked the combo; DH doesn't eat sweet potatoes so if I want them I have to make 2-seperate meals...this way I just give him the russet and I can have both! I used dried rosemary, but otherwise kept the recipe as is. Made for AUS/NZ Recipe Swap.
I love potatoes with rosemary and I love this variant.
The potatoes come really tasty, cooked and not burnt.
I had to be strong to stop and not eat too much. It was really goo. Thanks loof!
Have always enjoyed potatoes cooked this way but the addition of sweet potato adds a nice new demotion to an old favorite. Did make as written using sweet potato to stay true to the recipe but think a yam in place of sweet potato would add nice color with very little flavor change. Thanks so much for the post.
O'kay I cut the sweet potatoe and sweet potatoe chunckier than called for and I also used shallot onions (which I was hoping would remain whole but most broke up). I used fresh garlic from the garden and even the DH approved (he normally does not like garlic put into his potatoes but this time he declared it nutty and sweet) hence the use of shallots as the DH as an intollerance to onion if he ingests it but it was still easy to separate it from the potatoes) and well rounded of with fresh rosemary from the garden. While cooking I in the frypan with lid on (which took about 35 minutes I added a couple of tablespoons of water which gave a slightly steaming effect but did not inhibit it browning but did stop it grom going crunchy but then again the lid on would have stopped that) - is a recipe I would like to experiment with to see if I can get a crispiness to it maybe taking the lid off part the way through? Thank you loof, made for Aussie/Kiwi Recipe Swap #47 December 2010.
I made these for a dinner party with ribs. They tasted pretty good but mine took almost double the cooking time and weren't ready in time. I did enjoy the taste of both the potatoes together and will try that again. Thank you!
We greatly enjoyed this side dish with Noo's Pork Chops With Sage and Sweetened Apples, and wouldn't want to change anything: a great blend of flavours and very low fat. Wonderfully garlicky - so no need to increase the garlic - though those less fond of garlic may want to reduce it, and the rosemary was a perfect choice with the potatoes. Thank you for sharing this recipe, loof. Made for PRMR.
This was so easy and wonderful! I loved the flavor combination of the potatoes and my whole family loved them. I also added a carrot grated to the mix just because I always love carrots with sweet potatoes and I'm always trying to find ways to add more vegetables. Thanks for a fantastic recipe loof! Made for 1-2-3 Zaar tag.
loof, you've got another winner here! I love a simple, quick, healthy side dish like this. The aroma from the onions, garlic and rosemary was mouth-watering. I didn't peel the potatoes as I like the health benefits they give. I also used a tad more garlic. So pretty and colorful next to my chicken entree! Thanks again loof!
