  • Mix cake ingredients well.
  • Bake as directed on box in a 9X13 pan or two round cake pans.
  • Beat filling ingredients very hard for 15-20 minutes or until creamy.
  • Split cake horizontally and fill with cream mixture.

  1. This cake was a big hit at my church picnic with the adults. Not as big w/ the kiddos to my suprise. Have to beat the filling until real hard to get the best flavor. Very yummy, I would recommend, I also used sugar free jello in the cake and splenda in the filling and still tasted yummy!
     
  2. Is this supposed to be reg. sugar or powdered sugar in the filling. I just made this recipe. The filling taste very gritty. I have not tasted the cake part yet.
     
  3. I really liked the cake part of this recipe but I ended up making my own whipped cream filling because this filling came out too gritty and not very sweet. I could really taste the shortening in it.
     
  4. It is regular sugar used and the grittiness should get better after baking. Hope it turns out for you!
